We would like to tell you about Sans. You see, Sans means "Without", and before Tails... that was all that Sans knew.
Sans is the ultimate comeback story. When he first arrived, he weighed only 24 lbs and was too weak to even lift his head, he was covered in pressure sores from being left to starve.... but his spirit proved unbreakable.
Today, those physical wounds have healed, and Sans has transformed into an active, athletic companion who finally knows what it feels like to have a full belly and a soft place to land. He absolutely thrives with another dog as a friend! He is essentially a 50-pound "lap cat" who will lean into you for pets, flip over for belly rubs, and tirelessly engage you in his favorite game of fetch.
Because of a difficult past, Sans carries some mental scars and remains cautious of the unknown. He thrives in a low-traffic home where introductions to new people are handled slowly-ideally with a handful of treats or a tennis ball to win him over. He is a smart, house-trained boy who loves long walks and running in the yard, but he needs a patient leader who can continue showing him that humans can be just as awesome as he is.
There is no dog who will show you greater gratitude or deeper devotion. To Sans, every meal and every kind word is a gift, and he pays his family back with a level of love that is truly second to none. He has survived the unimaginable and is now simply waiting for one person to promise him that the "bad days" are gone forever.
Sans is currently staying in a foster home, so if you would like to meet him please email info@tailshumanesociety.org
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
