Meet Maya
Maya is a gentle soul who has been let down far too many times in her life—but those days are behind her now that she's safe with STS. A kind shelter volunteer rescued her from living in a dark basement, confined to a crate, shortly after she gave birth on 01/26/26. Sadly, none of her nine puppies survived. Despite everything she has endured, Maya remains incredibly sweet, loving, and trusting.
Maya is a mixed-breed girl, approximately 9 years old and about 40 pounds. She has a calm, easygoing temperament and would be happiest in a home where she can spend lots of time close to her people. She's the kind of dog who just wants to curl up beside you and soak in the comfort of being loved.
She does well with both dogs and cats and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a quiet, affectionate best friend. Maya isn't asking for much—just a safe home, a soft place to rest, and a person to love her the way she has always deserved.
Maya is currently being treated for Lyme and is scheduled to be spayed and have a dental for a fractured tooth and can go to a local Adopter as a Foster to ADOPT until her vetting is complete. You can apply for her now at www.stopthesuffering.org.
