Mariposa is super loving, she loves saying hi and getting pets all the time. She is great with our 4 kids (ages 5-14) and she is high energy, but she can chill with the best of them too. It took a couple of days before we got to see some of her personality and we keep getting to see more every day. She does good with our 5 yo shepard mix, Mariposa has actually brought out her personality as much as the other way around. She isn't quite sure what to do about cats, we have caught her chasing them a few times but if they are on my lap she is very tentative of them. She is comfortable going in and out of the dog door from our garage to the back yard and she finally is comfortable going up and down the stairs. We are working on the kennel; she is comfortable going into the kennel to lay down but we have not started locking her in for any period of time.
She does not like when people leave, even when people are still at home. She howls and barks when anyone leaves, she lets us know when she needs to go potty outside, she is still exploring different toys, and learning what is a toy and what isn't. She is a fast learner, only took a day or so for her to learn the sit and lay commands, we are working on leash training. We do have to be careful when we go out the front door because she will sneak out if we aren't careful, but it isn't too hard to get her back, she actually ran back to our door the other day when she got out and was waiting for me there when I was trying to find her. She loves the freedom of being off leash and she loves laying and rolling in the snow, she isn't so sure of the snow shovel though.

The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).
Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).
Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
