Meet Pantera!
Please help us give a warm Pacific Northwest welcome to Pantera, an adorable young adult former street pup who just made the long journey north from our wonderful friends and rescue partners in San Pancho, Mexico. After miles of travel and a fresh start ahead, she's now safe in Oregon, settling into her temporary foster home in Portland and getting her very first taste of the comforts of home life.
Her rescue story: She lived at a local gas station and they said she had an owner, but then the owner moved away and she has been living on the street and with friends. She stays mostly with people here and there and then sometimes she will just go off on her own and go to the beach and hang out, but she really needs to be off the streets and safe in a home.
Pantera is soaking it all in - soft beds, full meals, gentle hands, and the simple joy of feeling safe and loved. Like many former street dogs, the world of indoor living is still new to her, but she's already showing just how resilient, sweet, and adaptable she is. Every day her confidence grows as she learns new routines, explores her surroundings, and discovers that people can be kind and dependable. With patience, positive guidance, and consistent structure, Pantera is truly beginning to blossom. She'll thrive with a family who can continue helping her build skills and confidence while offering the love and encouragement she deserves. In return, she promises loyal companionship, happy tail wags, and all the goofy, heart-melting moments that make rescue dogs so special. Pantera is ready to leave her past behind and start her next chapter - one filled with adventure, comfort, and a forever family to call her own.
If this sweet girl has captured your heart, we'd love for you to submit an adoption application through our website to join her interest list and learn more.

What We Know & Why We Love Them (foster/volunteer/staff feedback):
Foster's update 2/10/26: Wow. Really impressed at how adaptable Pantera has been right from the get go. She arrived with a bounce, cute thing. Slept through the night, ate heartely and had a nice walk this morning. A dream in the leash. She's a cuddler. She likes to sit right next to you and then curl up in a ball. She knows how to sit on command. She does not have a calm demeanor with cats and a cat free home would be best. The neighbor cat came in for a visit this morning. She loves to chase a ball or a toy. She's totally calm when in the house and very polite. She doesn't bark except when a dog walks by the front door. I heard that she loves other dogs of all shapes and sizes. My neighbor is dying to have an inside playdate once the timing is right. She bonds quickly as she did with her several fosters.
