Roscoe had just been surrendered when I met him. He let me leash him, but once beyond his kennel, he froze. With all the barking, the shelter can be a scary place for some dogs. A worker helped me get Roscoe to an interaction pen where he found a place to sit back and observe other dogs.
As scared as he was, Roscoe still let me pet him and scratch his back. When he saw me at the fence with his canine neighbor Midnight, he walked over to join us. Roscoe's former owner said Roscoe doesn't like male dogs, but the boys were friendly at the fence and began walking along the fence together. Eventually, Roscoe started coming to me and joined me at the picnic table. He's a sweet boy who needs a friend.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
