Meet Hubert — The Ultimate People Dog

If you’re looking for a dog who makes you feel like the most important person in the world, Hubert is your guy. This handsome shepherd mix has a heart as big as his smile — he’ll snuggle up the first time you meet him and lean in for as many pets as you’re willing to give.

Estimated to be around five to seven years old, Hubert’s playful and curious energy suggests he may be a bit younger at heart. He loves squeaky toys, lick mats, and backyard ball time — even if his version of fetch sometimes ends with him keeping the ball. He’s also a quick learner who enjoys training sessions and already knows sit, paw, touch, place, wait, spin, and down.

One of his sweetest habits is how he greets you when you come home — tail wagging, eyes bright, and a look that says, “I’ve been waiting for you!” He just loves to be near his people and makes every day feel a little warmer. At home, Hubert is a well-mannered gentleman. He’s fully house-trained, non-destructive, and happy to relax while his foster is at work. At bedtime, he trots into his crate without a fuss, knowing a treat awaits.

Hubert would thrive with an adopter who appreciates his affectionate nature and playful energy. He’s still working on leash reactivity toward dogs and bikes, so he’ll do best with someone patient and confident handling a strong walker. Because he can be protective of food and toys, Hubert is best suited as an only pet, ideally in a home with adults or older kids who understand dog boundaries and preferably in a home in a quieter neighbourhood with a backyard for him to call his own.
