Looking to help a dog in need? Then check out this opportunity to FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPT with Canine Haven Rescue! We are a foster-based rescue organization in the GTA. We can only help bring these dogs out of shelters if we have a foster (or foster to adopt) home for them. Fostering is free, all supplies are provided, and you get the opportunity to help a deserving dog! If you foster to adopt, you will have the option to adopt after approximately 2 weeks.

More About Drake

Meet Drake – he was determined to survive. When Drake was found, he was in a desperate, skeletal state. He had severe eye problems and tick fever. His odds didn’t look good. However, with vet care, food and love and care from staff and volunteers, Drake was able to pull through. He did lose his eye due to the pressure being too high and not getting better. Drake doesn’t let these things hold him back. He is one enthusiastic boy! His energy levels are high and he loves attention. He is friendly with dogs and does well with dogs his similar size and smaller. He is very bonded to Whitney

Drake has now lost the sight in his remaining eye and we think he is completely blind. He manages well, it hasn’t really slowed him down, although he does bump into things. He would need a home that was suitable for his special needs. Blind dogs do well once they figure out where everything is. It would be ideal if he could go to home that has experience of caring for partially sighted, or blind dogs. Ideally, it would be wonderful if he could find a home with Whitney as they are very close.
