Meet Toby! This handsome 4-year-old pit mix came to us as a stray after being found wandering around Wilmington. He waited patiently for his family to come for him, but sadly, no one ever did, so now he's ready to find a fresh start with someone new. Toby shows all the signs of having been a beloved pet. He's house-trained, knows basic commands like "sit" and "paw," and even has the cutest little spin he likes to show off, whether it's a trick or just happy excitement, we're not totally sure, but it's adorable either way! While in our care, Toby has made plenty of doggy friends, though he can be a bit selective with some male dogs. He would thrive in an active home that can match his energy and give him plenty of opportunities to run, play, and explore. If you're looking for a playful, loyal companion who will bring both laughter and love into your life, Toby might just be your perfect match.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
