Mixed Breed and Chihuahua Dogs Available for Adoption

Sapphire is beautiful 2-year-old mixed breed - she weighs ~32lbs and is the perfect blend of gentle soul and playful companion.

Sapphire has a low-to-medium energy level and enjoys a balanced lifestyle. She loves her daily walks where she can stop and sniff all the interesting smells along the way, and she also enjoys backyard playtime with her dog friends. Recently she discovered the joy of tennis balls and has started playing a very cute game of “keep away.” While she enjoys activity and adventure, Sapphire is equally happy curling up for cozy cuddle sessions with her people.

When meeting new people, Sapphire can be shy and cautious at first, but with a little patience and kindness she blossoms into an incredibly affectionate dog who loves attention, kisses, and being close to her humans. Once she trusts you, her sweet personality shines. She is a loyal, gentle companion who forms deep bonds with the people she loves.

Sapphire does well with dogs when she has slow/proper introductions and currently lives happily with a canine foster sibling, who she loves. On walks she is calm and polite when passing other dogs. A well-balanced dog pal would be ideal to show her the ropes in her forever home.

She is fully house-trained and potty trained. She loves her kennel and often chooses it as her safe, cozy resting spot even when the door is open. Sapphire can be trusted roaming the house when her foster family is away and is calm, quiet, and well behaved. At night she is flexible and happy sleeping in her kennel, on a dog bed, or snuggled up on the bed with her humans.

Sapphire walks beautifully on leash and stays close by your side. She rides well in the car once she’s inside, though she can be a little hesitant about getting in at first. Loud vacuums are not her favorite, and she will usually retreat to her kennel until the noise passes.

Her foster family describes her as gentle, affectionate, loyal, playful, and incredibly cuddly. She is still gaining confidence and learning how to fully embrace being a carefree dog, and it has been a joy to watch her personality unfold. Recently she had her very first zoomies, and her excitement at mealtime is adorable—complete with happy tail wags, little “tip taps” of her paws, and the cutest little bark-howl.

Sapphire would thrive in a loving home that offers patience, kindness, and reassurance as she continues building confidence. A friendly dog sibling could help her feel even more secure, but she could also do well as the only dog with attentive humans. She would enjoy a home that balances outdoor walks and adventures with plenty of calm downtime and cuddles.
