Cicada’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. He came to us alongside 14 other dogs in very poor condition, clearly having experienced little to no socialization. When Cicada first arrived, he was extremely terrified and completely shut down, unsure of the world around him.

Since then, he’s been given the care, patience, and love he so desperately needed. After some much-needed TLC, Cicada has truly transformed — now cleaned up and looking absolutely handsome. While he’s still a very fearful boy, we are slowly seeing glimpses of the sweet dog he has the potential to become.

Cicada will need a very calm, quiet, and patient home that understands building trust will take time. He is not the kind of dog who will immediately run into your arms — he needs someone willing to move at his pace and celebrate the small victories. Because of his timid nature, a home without young children would be best.

We do believe Cicada may benefit from living with other dogs, as he previously lived with several and may find comfort in a confident canine companion.

Cicada is looking for a special adopter (or foster-to-adopt home) who can give him the safe, predictable environment he needs to truly blossom. We are requiring that Cicada be neutered prior to finalizing his adoption — whether sponsored or completed while in a foster-to-adopt placement.
