Meet Antonella, a sweet, 2-year-old Miniature Pinscher mix who is looking for a patient soul to help her blossom. While she starts off shy and can be nervous around loud noises or fast movements, she becomes a total shadow who just wants to be near her people once she feels safe.
Antonella has some of the most endearing habits. She is a dedicated toy collector who gathers all her treasures into one spot before slowly and methodically taking them apart. She is also a bit of a laundry thief--if a sock or t-shirt is left on the floor, she will claim it as her own to snuggle with or hide in her bed. She is incredibly smart and food-motivated, which has made her a star with puzzle toys and learning new routines.
Training-wise, she is a work in progress but very capable. She currently responds to Spanish commands, and her foster is helping her transition to English. She is fully house-trained and crate-trained, making her a very polite housemate. However, she is still learning that the leash isn't a scary thing. She currently tends to freeze or run and hide when she sees it, so she will need a family willing to continue her slow and patient confidence-building.
In her foster home, she has done well with a smaller resident dog after a few days of settling in. She does have a tendency to want all the attention for herself and can be a bit of a resource guarder when it comes to her humans. Because she eats very quickly, she will need to keep using a slow-feeder or puzzle bowl for her meals.
