Bussa is a magnificent tan Dogue de Bordeaux with a big, wrinkled head, soulful brown eyes, and the kind of gentle, weathered face that only comes with years of living. He was initially found as a lost dog wearing identification, and when his owners were contacted, they made the decision to sign him over. He arrived at Cobb Animal Services on July 14th, and at 8 years old, this senior gentleman is understandably a bit confused by all the sudden change in his life.

There is something truly unjust about a sweet senior boy like Bussa spending any of his golden years in a cold, loud shelter environment instead of settled into the comfort of a home. Senior dogs so often get overlooked, yet they bring a calm, steady affection that only comes with age, and Bussa's gentle nature shows through clearly despite the confusion of his situation.

Bussa is well mannered on a leash, walking without pulling, and he sits nicely for treats, showing off both good training and a sweet, food-motivated personality. His large, impressive frame houses an equally large heart, and it is easy to imagine how content he would be settling into a quiet home of his own.

This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.
