Meet Boston (aka "Boss"), but don’t let that name fool you. The only bossy thing about this guy is his demand for love and affection! Best described as calm, affectionate, and friendly, this beautiful Mastiff is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and will be neutered prior to adoption.
Good with: Kids (in fact he LOVES them!), dogs, cats. Regarding the cats, Boss does not have a lot of exposure to cats but he's been non-reactive to the cat in his foster home.
Prefers a home with: kids, another calm dog
Boston is as calm as they come. He is house trained, crate trained, loose leash trained and knows basic obedience. Boss is a stage 5 clinger and follows his person (or people) anywhere they go. He just loves being near you!
Boston does not require kids in his home but he does love them. He lived with kids in his original home, and currently lives with 4 of them. To him kids equal extra cuddles and ear scratches.
If energy levels were measured on a scale of 1 to 10, Boston hovers around a 0.5. He's up for a daily walk, but if you're having a lazy day, he won't hold it against you. Every now and then, the zoomies hit him in the yard in the cutest burst of energy you'll ever see, before he happily settles back down.
Boston would do best in a home with an experienced and patient owner as his past has left him a little unsure or nervous about some things out in the world. Some loud noises may startle him so a little reassurance and patience will go along ways for this big guy. Boss also grew up with other dogs in the home and does well with them but due to his calm demeanor and low energy level, a calm companion will make for the best match. Boston is almost 2 years old and fully vetted, microchipped and heartworm negative.
If you feel that Boss would be that missing piece to your family’s puzzle then make sure you complete that adoption application. Boston is being fostered in Illinois, but don't let distance be a barrier. We transport to many states east of the Mississippi!
