Chico is an 8-year-old Maltese with a big personality packed into his 15-pound frame. Equal parts charming gentleman and lovable little stinker, Chico knows exactly how to win hearts… especially the ladies 💁‍♀️
This sweet boy spent the last six years being completely adored (and, let’s be honest, a little spoiled!) by his previous owner, who recently moved into assisted living. Since joining us, Chico has been learning that life isn’t all about getting his way—but don’t worry, he’s still holding onto his signature sass.
Chico’s favorite job? Being your constant companion. He’ll happily follow you from room to room like your own fluffy little shadow, always wanting to be close to “his person.” He walks nicely on a leash, does well in a crate, and gets along with other dogs—though he may try to remind them he’s the boss every now and then (typical Chico behavior 😄).
He has done a bit of marking in his new environment, which could be from nerves or just old habits, but he’s currently rocking a belly band like a pro while he continues to adjust—and it’s been an easy solution!
Chico would do best with someone who understands that he’s been a bit spoiled and is willing to continue helping him learn boundaries with patience and consistency… all while soaking up his endless affection and quirky personality.
