Hi . . . my name is Q-tip and I'm an affectionate 13-year-old Maltese boy who weighs 8.8 lbs. Don't let my “senior” age fool you . . . I'm still spunky. If given the choice, I prefer the company of the male in the household. I am an independent guy and fine “doing my own thing”.
Favorite Things: Q-tip loves his people, and this gentle boy connects deeply to them. He would prefer to be in a home where someone is home more often than not. Toys? He could take them or leave them. Cuddles? Yes . . . he would love to find a home with lots of cuddles.
Training & Manners: Q-tip is house trained and will come and find you to tell you he needs to go out. He has good basic manners, walks well on a leash and loves a car ride. He is a smart boy who is food-motivated.
Health and Care: This sweet boy is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. As a Maltese, Q-tip will need occasional professional grooming with baths and nail trims in between. Q-tip is a healthy senior boy, only taking his monthly heartworm and flea prevention, like any dog.
Other Animals: Q-tip is experienced with small dogs only. He has not been tested with cats, but we think he would be ok with a feline friend.
Children: Q-tip would do best in a home with older children (8+) who are gentle and respectful of his age and small size.
Ideal Home: Q-tip would do best in a single-family home where someone is home more often than not. He has free rein of his foster home. As mentioned, he prefers the company of the male in the household and will likely follow him around in his forever home. He currently sleeps in the “people bed” in his foster home.
Overall: If you are looking for an affectionate boy who is looking to live out his dreams of cuddles, wholesome food and love in his senior years, Q-tip might be the boy for you.
Are you the one for Q-tip? Then visit our website at www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You'll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it's a potential match. His adoption donation is $200.
