Hi there…
My name is Cooper, and I’m a 20-month-old Maltese/Tibetan Terrier mix. I may only be 16 pounds, but my heart is full of love, loyalty, and hope for a gentle forever home.

I’m currently living with my wonderful foster family in Virginia Beach, VA, and I’m ready for adoption. I can also travel to other States if the right family is waiting for me.

My Heart, My Story

When I trust you, my tail never stops wagging. I love walks. I love soft voices. I love car rides more than anything — the window open, the breeze in my fur, the feeling of freedom and comfort all at once.

I am a deeply loyal little dog.
Once I bond with you, I stay by your side with my whole heart.

But I also need to tell you something important:

I do not feel comfortable around children.
Their fast movements and loud noise make me nervous, and I prefer not to be in that environment.

I am happiest in a calm, peaceful home —
one with a single woman who understands sensitive dogs and offers slow, steady love.

How I See the World

I adore women and feel very protective of them.
I get along beautifully with dogs.
But with strangers — especially men — I can be unsure at first. Sometimes I growl when I feel scared. Not because I am mean, but because I am still learning how to trust the world.

With patient training, guidance, and reassurance, I can overcome these fears.
I just need someone who sees my heart before my hesitation.
