OUT-OF-TOWN Dogs with NDR refer to dogs we have saved that have yet to make their journey to Ontario. These dogs are currently in our care with the help of our partners in the area. These dogs will all travel to the Niagara Region once an appropriate adopter or local foster is found.

Backstory:
Queeny was left surrendered chained on the streets. I am sure she used to have an owner but probably her owner died and the family just dumped her.

Queeny’s story begins with quiet confusion and a heart that never stopped loving. This gentle Maltese/terrier mix was found chained on the streets in Mexico—waiting. It was clear she had once belonged to someone. The way she leaned into every gentle touch, the way she trusted so easily, and the calm, polite way she carried herself all told the same story: Queeny had known love before.

It’s believed that after her owner passed away, she was simply left behind… but Queeny never lost hope that someone would come back for her. Today, Queeny is ready to start her next chapter—and this time, it’s forever. With a soft black coat, Queeny is a low-to-medium energy girl who brings a peaceful, comforting presence wherever she goes. She is wonderfully social, getting along beautifully with women, men, children, and other dogs. Her gentle nature makes her the kind of companion who fits seamlessly into a loving home.

Queeny absolutely adores affection—she will happily soak up all the pets and cuddles you have to offer. She’s quiet (not a barker at all), well-mannered, and fully house trained. She walks beautifully on leash, rides calmly in the car, and shows no signs of reactivity or aggression. She simply enjoys being by your side, whether it’s a relaxed walk or a cozy evening at home. She’s currently working on her crate training and is doing well, especially with her eagerness to please. Mealtime is one of her favorite parts of the day—she eats twice daily and has a healthy appetite (she could stand to lose just a little weight, but she’s on the right track!).

Queeny would thrive in a home with a yard where she can enjoy some fresh air, but she can also adapt well to apartment living as long as she gets her daily walks. While she enjoys the company of other dogs, she does not require a canine companion—her heart is simply set on being close to her people. After everything she’s been through, Queeny is still full of love, trust, and quiet joy. She doesn’t ask for much—just a safe place, a kind hand, and a family who will never leave her behind again.
