You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Chewy is a very sweet senior gentleman. He lived a lot of years in a commercial breeding kennel and is now getting to learn what being a dog should be all about.

We do not believe Chewy can hear much at all.

Chewy’s foster mom would describe him as an easy keeper - he’s happy to hang out and take it easy. Can you give this sweet boy a loving home to retire in?

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

Physically fenced in yard to keep him safe.
Chewy would do best in a home with a resident dog to help guide him and show him the ropes.
*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice. However, with understanding, patience, and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.

The Lhasa Apso is a small and fearless dog breed originating from Tibet, known for its long and flowing double coat that requires regular grooming. These alert and loyal companions possess a distinctive demeanor and make excellent watchdogs. They are independent yet affectionate, enjoying their human family's company while also being wary of strangers. With a history rooted in Buddhist monasteries, the Lhasa Apso is a sturdy and ancient breed cherished for its adaptability and unique personality.
