Someone forgot to tell Knox how big he is.

Knox is a big, lovable guy with a goofy personality and a real enthusiasm for being included in whatever is going on. At about 85 pounds, he may take up a little more room than the average dog, but he seems pretty convinced he's just a regular-sized guy.

In fact, his foster has discovered that Knox comes with his own built-in nickname: Obknoxious-or "Obknoxie" for short. That nickname came about when Knox decided his foster's lap was exactly where he belonged...while she was sitting in her desk chair on a work call. Personal space may be a concept Knox is still working on.

Knox loves toys, attention and spending time with people. He's playful and fun, but there's a gentle side to this big guy too. He walks nicely on leash and has done well around other dogs. At adoption events, he's handled all the activity well and happily soaked up attention from the people he's met.

Knox would love a home where he can be part of the action, whether that's heading out for an adventure, playing with his favorite toys or attempting to convince you that 85 pounds absolutely qualifies as a lap dog.

Knox is approximately 3 years old and 85 pounds. His breed is our best guess, but he appears to be a Lab/Great Dane mix.

Interested in meeting Knox? Apply to adopt through Heart of America Humane Society. All dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and receive age-appropriate vaccinations before adoption. Adoptions are limited to the Kansas City metro area and require an in-person meet. Adoption fee $250.
