Hi there! I’m Hondo — a 6-year-old, 85 lb Black Lab mix with a heart as big as my smile.

I’m all about the simple joys in life — a comfy bed, a good walk, a squeaky toy to toss around, and relaxing TV time with my people. I’m super friendly and love meeting new folks! I haven’t been around kids in my foster home yet, but I’m such a gentle guy that I’m sure I’d be just fine with them.

When it comes to furry friends, I absolutely adore female dogs and do wonderfully with cats. I can be a little selective with male dogs, but once I find my circle, I’m loyal for life. I’m fully potty trained, great on a leash, and such a good boy that I don’t even need a crate — I’m perfectly happy lounging around the house like a pro.

I do love my food and toys (a guy’s gotta have his favorites!), so I prefer to enjoy those in my own space. Other than that, I’m the definition of easygoing and affectionate — ready to bring love, laughter, and laid-back vibes to my forever home.

*Disclaimer: Hondo is currently located in Texas and can be adopted either locally or out of state. We coordinate everything with our ground transport teams to ensure they arrive to the adopter safely and we keep the adopter in the loop every step of the way. Transport costs are included in the adoption fees. We also have our fosters video chat with potential adopters prior to adoption so that the adopter gets to see the animals and ensure it’s a fit. We allow adoption fees to be paid via goods and services if desired to give our adopters extra security and protection.
