Howie – 1 Year Old Labrador Retriever

Howie is a 1 year old Labrador Retriever weighing about 70 pounds — and yes, he is all Lab. Big heart, big body, and even bigger love for belly rubs.

This boy will happily roll right over for scratches without hesitation. Belly rubs? Yes please. Treats? Also yes please.

Howie is such a sweetie. He enjoys exploring, checking things out, and just being part of whatever is going on. He’s already learned how to sit (very smart boy), and like most young Labs, he’s eager to continue learning and growing with his person.

Sadly, Howie was a returned adoption. His previous family had him since he was a puppy, but they weren’t prepared for how big he would get. He is a 70-pound boy and needs a home that understands large breeds and is ready to embrace that.

The good news? His spirit is still bright. He is happy, affectionate, and ready to love wholeheartedly.

At just over a year old, he’s past the tiny puppy phase but still very much a young dog. He just needs a forever family who is prepared for his size and committed for the long haul.

Howie is located in Gainesville, TX, but we offer transportation services all over the U.S.
