SUNNIE D LIGHT SADIE

Labrador Retriever
🇺🇸
Friendswood, Texas
February 20th
female, medium, young

DESCRIPTION

Sunnie D is a force of joy with two settings- delighted-happy-to-be-here and double-delighted-happy-to-be-here! Is that any surprise? You can just see that joyful delight on her face. She is estimated to be around 9–12 months old, she weighs 36 lbs with some growing to do and if I get to make up breeds she is a 100% purebred “sunshine puppy.”

This girl is the friend who wakes up ready to high-five the day, is always looking forward to making new friends, and she is ready for anything (as long as your brought the snacks.)

Sunnie D is endlessly happy, dog-friendly, and the kind of playmate who brings goofy confidence to every situation. With other dogs she has what can best be described as little-sister energy. Think- always involved, always ready to romp, and not the least bit intimidated. Because she thrives on canine company and loves having a buddy to bounce around with, she is the type that will need a dog friend!

With kids, Sunnie is a total fan and loves being part of the action. When she met Cash, 7 y/o and Miller 4 y/o, she was an instant bestie, grabbing a toy and immediately wanting to play. Since she’s still a puppy, she can get a bit mouthy when she’s excited, not in an aggressive way, just big-happy feelings that she hasnt learned how to express with manners yet. The good news- she takes correction and direction well. She isthe kind of eager beaver who will improve quickly with a family that’s ready to teach her what to do instead of what not to do. Think of things like structured play, redirecting to toys, and basic training games that turn her enthusiasm into good habits.

We introduced Sunnie to our house cat and she was very eager and excited! She showed playful curiosity but it is absolutely the kind of energy that won't work for every cat right off the bat. If she joins a home with a cat, she’ll need clear boundaries and consistent guidance so she learns respectful, calm behavior around the kitty (she’s young, she’s excited, and she’s absolutely capable of learning). Of course, she does not need a feline friend and will be perfectly happy with a family and a doggie pal.

Sunnie D is looking for a home that wants a happy, playful, teachable young dog, and is ready to enjoy the process of shaping all that sunshine into a well-mannered best friend. She is a girl who will make you laugh daily, be an awesome canine buddy to your dog, and is ready to see the big-wide-world with you by her side.

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
