DESCRIPTION

There are puppies that are cute... and then there are puppies that somehow manage to look at you like you've been best friends forever.

Bear Lee is definitely the second kind. One look into those big, soulful eyes and it's almost impossible not to fall in love. Add in the fact that he loves curling up in your lap, happily follows his foster around the house, and somehow balances playful puppy antics with the sweetest snuggles, and you end up with a little guy that's awfully hard to resist. If his foster had it their way, he'd probably never leave.

Watch his video and prepare to fall in love with this adorable little sidekick: https://youtu.be/iMAV1q1C2EE?si=9QtXwL5fJPf-Xi3d

Bear is believed to be approximately 3 months old and currently weighs about 4 pounds. As with any rescue puppy, his exact breed is always a mystery, but our best guess is he's a Lab mix. We also have a feeling this handsome little guy may stay on the smaller side once he's fully grown, though with rescue puppies, that's always our best educated guess.

One of the first things you'll notice about Bear is how connected he is to his people. He has the sweetest way of looking at you that makes it feel like you're the only person in the room. Those big, expressive eyes are full of love, curiosity, and complete admiration. He's the kind of puppy that enjoys being close to his people, happily climbing into your lap for cuddles before getting up to investigate whatever you're doing next. He loves following his foster from room to room, but he's also confident enough to entertain himself when needed. It's a wonderful balance that makes him incredibly easy to have around.

Like any puppy his age, Bear enjoys a good play session, but he also has a great off switch. He'll wrestle, chase his dog friends around the yard, chew on his favorite toys, and then be perfectly content stretching out for a nap beside you. His foster describes him as having a nice medium energy level that's playful without feeling nonstop, making him the kind of puppy who's just as happy joining you on an adventure as he is spending a quiet afternoon at home.

Bear currently lives with four other dogs ranging from about 12 pounds all the way up to 80 pounds, and he's done wonderfully with every one of them. His favorite playmate is the smallest dog in the house, an 18-month-old Poodle mix, and together they spend their time wrestling, chasing each other around, and sharing toys like two puppies should. With the larger dogs, he's perfectly happy to simply hang out and coexist. He's social, respectful, and has shown us that he knows how to adjust his play style depending on who he's spending time with.

He's also proving to be one smart little puppy. Bear sleeps quietly through the night in his crate and is comfortable being crated when his foster leaves the house. He only lets you know if he needs to go outside. He's already about 70% potty trained, has started using the doggy door, and is learning commands like "sit," "come," and "no." He loves treats, which has made training both fun and rewarding, and he's shown absolutely no signs of resource guarding with food or toys.

Outside, Bear's curious personality really shines. He enjoys exploring the backyard, happily following his foster around to see what they're up to and investigating all the new sights and smells. He's just beginning to learn about leash walks and the big world beyond his yard, and we think he's going to make a wonderful adventure buddy as his confidence continues to grow.

Because of his easygoing personality and petite size, Bear has the potential to thrive in either an apartment or a home with a fenced yard, as long as his family is committed to giving him the exercise, training, and enrichment every puppy needs.
Bear has all the things people hope for in a puppy. He's affectionate without being clingy, playful without being overwhelming, smart, eager to learn, and impossibly sweet. Most of all, he's the kind of puppy that forms the sweetest little bond with his people, and we have a feeling whoever brings him home is going to wonder how they ever lived without those soulful eyes looking up at them every day

We are willing to test Bear Lee with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.
