Meet Milana, a velvety-soft 10 month old lab mix who is ready to leave her difficult past behind and start her true life with a forever family. Weighing in at a dainty 32 pounds, this sweet girl is currently on a mission to gain a little healthy weight, a goal she is pursuing with great enthusiasm thanks to plenty of extra treats! Though she came from a challenging hoarding situation where she missed out on early socialization, Milana’s resilient spirit shines through; while she can be a bit nervous at first, she warms up to new friends remarkably fast. She is already house and crate trained, and while she might offer a few minutes of "protest whining" when first turning in for the night, she settles down quickly once she feels secure.

Milana is a true "velcro dog" who finds deep comfort in human closeness, making her the ultimate cuddle companion for anyone who loves a good snuggle session. She coexists peacefully with both dogs and cats, making her a versatile fit for a multi-pet household. While she is still learning the "rules of play" and isn’t quite sure what to do with toys or bones yet, she has absolutely mastered the art of the neighborhood stroll. She is a professional sniffer who finds pure joy in exploring the backyard and taking in all the scents of the world. Milana is looking for a patient, loving home where she can continue to find her confidence and finally experience the pampered life she has always deserved.

**Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **
