Meet Ziv, a 2-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever looking for his loving forever home. Ziv has been raised in our service dog training program and has learned many of his basic skills: come, sit, down, wait, here (hand target), off, let’s go, kennel, plus more. He is crate-trained and travels well.
Ziv is not suitable to remain in our program due to reactivity on leash toward other dogs and anxiety in new or busy environments.
Ziv is described as sweet, gentle, sensitive, cuddly/affectionate, and easy-going, but can definitely have some energetic, goofy Lab moments. He’s easy to have around the home with minimal management.
His leash walking is a work in progress. He can walk nicely in quiet environments, but can be distracted by smells and may pull toward something of interest. He will be reactive toward other dogs, leading to pulling and barking. He is strong when motivated and will need an experienced, physically capable handler.
Ziv has played and cohabitated well with other dogs and wouldn’t mind having another appropriate dog in the home or some dog friends for playdates.
He is happiest when he’s interacting with his people or playing with another dog, and it would be great for him to have his own good-sized, securely fenced yard where he can do so.
Ziv would like an active family that will provide him with plenty of mental stimulation as well as physical.
Ziv’s adoption fee is $1,500. If you think that he sounds like a good match for you, please send an email to info@summitdogs.org (no phone calls, please) to request an application or ask questions.
