If you’re looking for a dog who is equal parts loyal, easygoing, and quietly devoted… Yogi might be your girl.
Yogi is a 5-year-old Lab/Shar-Pei mix, around 63 pounds, with the softest chestnut coat and the sweetest, slightly wrinkled face that always looks like she’s smiling. She has a calm, grounded presence and forms strong bonds with her people — the kind of dog who just wants to be near you, keeping you company.
Yogi is friendly and loving, though she may take a few minutes to warm up to new people. Once she does, she’s affectionate, fun, and incredibly easy to be around. She’s the type of dog who settles in quickly and becomes part of your routine without any fuss.
She is:
• Fully potty trained
• Crate trained (settles easily)
• Walks well on leash (just occasional reminders)
• Low-maintenance and adaptable
Yogi has a moderate energy level — she enjoys her daily walks and some playtime, but she’s just as happy relaxing at home. She would do well in a house or apartment as long as she gets regular exercise.
With other dogs, Yogi can be a bit selective. She does best with calmer, easygoing dogs and prefers more one-on-one interactions over busy group settings. She can also thrive as an only dog. She has been exposed to cats and did well.
She would do best in a home with older, respectful children and with someone who appreciates a dog who bonds deeply and just wants to be part of your world.
Yogi is currently heartworm positive and has started treatment, and she will need a committed adopter who can continue her care — but she is otherwise a healthy, wonderful dog ready for her next chapter.
She was pulled from BARC in Houston and is ready for a fresh start with a family who will love her the way she deserves.

The Truth About Rescue:
Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.
Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.
Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.
