Meet Scar – A Diamond Dog Ready for His Forever Home Hi there! I'm Scar, a 1-year-old Lab/Pit mix with a big smile, a loving heart, and just a touch of adventure in my soul. I originally came to the shelter after my curiosity got the best of me and I went exploring to visit the farm animals next door (they looked friendly, okay?). Now I'm ready to settle down and put all that energy into being someone's loyal, happy companion. These days, I'm confident, social, and full of love. I enjoy people and don't take long to show my affectionate side. I've lived with my sibling Draco my whole life, so I'm used to having another dog around and would love a canine companion. I do well with female dogs and tend to prefer smaller male friends, and as always, a meet and greet is the best way to make sure everyone is a good match. According to my previous family, I also did well with cats and children, making me a great candidate for a fun, active household that's ready for a young dog with a big heart. I've now been waiting 90 days as of February 10, 2026, to find my forever family, which officially makes me a Diamond Dog! That means my adoption fee is now only $75. Hopefully my perfect family finds me soon! I'm neutered, microchipped, up to date on my core vaccinations including rabies, and heartworm negative — all included in my adoption. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.
