Meet Olympia: A Sweet and Social Girl Looking for a Forever Home!

Sweet and gentle Olympia was brought in as a stray to North Central Animal Shelter back in September of 2025. She is 60lbs and listed as 5 years old, though we believe she could be younger. At the shelter, Olympia was at first timid and anxious in the stressful shelter environment. With the help of her volunteer friends and shelter playgroups with other dogs, she began to come out of her shell and become more playful, social, and connected to people and dogs alike. Our team at Dog Coalition LA fell in love with her. Our hearts broke watching her become muted and depressed from her extended stay in the shelter, so one of our own team members took her home as a foster in February.

Olympia is shining in her foster home. She is coming out of her shell and coming into her own, all wiggles all of the time. She is fostered with other dogs, one large and two small, and is very comfortable and sociable with them (she loves puppies, too!). Olympia is house trained and crate trained: she enjoys hanging out in her crate with no problem and sleeps soundly in it throughout the night. She also walks beautifully on leash and is learning to explore the world!

We believe Olympia would do very well in a forever home with at least one other dog friend, though she could also be a nice solo companion (with continued playdates and socialization if this is the case!). She is very food motivated and looking forward to finding her forever family that will spoil her with lots of treats and love.
