Our adoption application can be found at the bottom of this pet's bio. Once your application has been approved, we can arrange a virtual meet & greet with you and Bonnie.
Bonnie is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up.
Meet Bonnie!
Bonnie is a 5 year old female lab / pittie mix who currently weighs 60 pounds. Bonnie was found as a stray with her friend Clyde. We had seen these 2 on the streets for months, but we weren't able to help them due to lack of fosters. We fed them and came to check on them frequently. When we finally had fosters available, we got them off the streets!
Bonnie is dog friendly and currently lives with 3 other dogs in her foster home. We would say that Bonnie has a low energy level. She is often found lounging around on her bed or the couch. She enjoys hanging out in the backyard, rolling around in the grass and just sunbathing. She will gently play with a ball for about 5 minutes and then she's back to relaxing in the grass again.
Bonnie is cat friendly and currently lives with cats in her foster home. 90% of the time Bonnie does not have any interest in the cat. She will see the cat passing by or looking at her and does not react, even when the cat gets close to her. Bonnie has one time chased the cat across the house, but was quick to stop when humans intervened.
While Bonnie has not lived with children, we think she would be great with older children who can be respectful of boundaries. Bonnie is shy when meeting new people and needs some quiet time to be able to warm up and know that you're safe.
Bonnie is fully potty trained and is sure to only do her business outside. Bonnie does not cry or whine in her crate. She settles on the crate bed and relaxes or goes to sleep. She definitely sees her crate as her safe space and will nap in it often when the door is open.
Here's a small blurb about Bonnie from her foster mom:
Bonnie is our sweet, shy girl. She has low energy levels and enjoys taking long naps on the couch or relaxing outside in the yard. She would absolutely THRIVE with another dog in the home. Bonnie is more comfortable around females. She does not have an aggressive bone in her body, but we think she had a male that was not kind to her. She doesn't pay attention to the male in her current foster home. She has recently started hanging out with him in his office during the day while he's working, so with time and patience, she may grow to be more trusting of men she knows. She will need a patient male in the home if she goes to a home with men. Once she is comfortable, she enjoys following you around and seeing what you're up to! She wags her tail and even jumps with excitement to greet you when you come home! Her ideal home will be quiet and patient.
While these 2 are currently in separate foster homes, we would LOVE if they could be adopted together. We know that is a big ask for 2 adult dogs who are 50-60 pounds, so that's not a deal breaker and we will adopt them out separately. We would like for her to be adopted to a home with another dog if she's not adopted with Clyde.
