With a name like Zazoo you know he’s gotta be fun! He sure is! Zazoo is young, shows up tail wagging, heart happy, and likely with a toy in his mouth. My favorite part about him is how he basically fast-tracks you to bestfriend status, and you know because he has given you the kisses and leaned into you like an old friend.

Here are the things that will make you love him right away. Zazoo is a dog for the people. He is affectionate with new people and truly enjoys attention. That includes kids! He is great with kids and has that eager, happy presence that makes him a fun family companion. When he met Cash, 7 y/o, they went right to playing with a toy and in no time Zazoo had Cash giggling from just watching him be his happy, silly self. Toys are a big joy for him, which is great because toys can also a great training tool. And when it comes to training he is treat motivated which will make training progress feel doable, if not easy.

Because Zazoo is still a young dog, he has learning to do.
Zazoo is still learning leash skills and refining his dog social skills. Like any dog his age, he is sweet and eager to learn, not a finished product. When meeting new dogs he gets excited and will bark to “welcome” them from a distance. This is something he will be working on while he waits for his forever family. He enjoys other dogs and brings the classic enthusiastic puppy energy to his exchanges. A dog that does not enjoy a playful friend would not be the best fit for Zazoo but a confident, playful, adult dog who can set boundaries and help him with his dog manners is perfect! Right now Zazoo’s ideal home includes a yard so he can burn energy and work on training without being overwhelmed by busier environments. Zazoo will also need a cat-free home. When he was introduced to our house cat he got soo excited and it is easy to see he has little, if no, experience with cats and his curiosity could lead to unwelcome games of chase.

He’s got all the ingredients of an amazing family dog, he just needs the recipe part now: structure, practice, and someone special by his side. Zazoo is sweet, affectionate, and full of potential. He’s looking for a family who sees the good stuff (and there’s a lot of it) and is ready to guide him through the growing-up part with patience, consistency, and a sense of humor. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travel safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop off locations, in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, connect with fellow adopters and fosters through our private Facebook event page!

Before the adoption is finalized, you will meet your pet through a video call, creating a fun and personalized experience!

The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
