If you're looking for a squishy cuddle bug that will lounge around with you, is always down for a movie night, and looking for a companion that will porch sit with you on those nice summer days, well look no further because you have found her! Toasty Buttercup is the definition of a people's dog and she loves everyone she meets. She is equal parts squish and equal parts sweet. The total package!
Watch her video and fall in love with this lovable sweet girl: https://youtu.be/ArHRmbg7GlE?si=qjttCYsgP_a-apnR
Toasty Buttercup is believed to be a lab/pittie mix approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 62 lbs. Don't let her pictures fool you, she is a little short sprout with some extra love pounds on her. Perfect for snuggles and endless squish potential. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age.
Toasty is dog friendly and has done great around dogs her size, bigger and has even done great around dogs that are 12lbs. She's not very playful with other dogs and enjoys just hanging out in the yard enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. She is the type of lady that is a little more of a slow burn and likes to get to know her doggy friends before she feels fully comfortable with them. It doesn't take her long to open up and she really appreciates other dogs that respect her slow approach to things and are not pushy with wanting to get to know her. In a home, Toasty would do best with another calm relaxed dog that will be happy to lounge around the house together and one that simply enjoys the company of being around another dog. She would also do great as your one and only dog as well because she loves people so much. She's not the kind of dog that needs the company of other dogs to make her feel comfortable or open up, she's already a natural born lover and would actually love to be your little princess.
When it comes to training, Toasty loves all the treats and will do anything for a tasty snack. She is eager to please and already knows how to sit, walks easy on a leash, is comfortable in her crate, and from what we can tell she already has great house manners. Toasty will make a great companion if you work from home and will only bug you for some affection every now and then. She has a calm energy about her and is the perfect homebody companion. Her love for treats and her eagerness to please her person will make anything additional training you want to do with her that much enjoyable for you both.
Due to Toasty's easy and adaptable demeanor, there are a lot of different home environments that she would do great in. We can see her living in a home with a backyard, a condo, or even an apartment. She is naturally a calmer girl so a walk around the neighborhood will be just fine to keep her happy and healthy. We can also see her enjoying relaxing on the porch with you on those nice summer evenings while you read your favorite book or just enjoying the nice weather with you. It doesn't take much to make this sweet girl happy, all she needs is her person and all the snuggles. We have not yet seen Toasty with kids juts yet and we can absolutely test that for you with any age, but we do believe she would make a great family dog. She is so sweet, loving, and gentle that we are pretty certain she will extend that same approach to children.
We are willing to test Toasty Buttercup with anything you need to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
