Barkley is a beautiful 12 week old puppy who appears to be a Lab mix and collie. He’s one of the lucky ones. Barkley was found outside, all alone and freezing, but a kind Good Samaritan scooped him up and brought him straight to safety.

He’s been with us for a couple of weeks now and has settled in wonderfully. Barkley is sweet, friendly, and easygoing, and he gets along great with everyone he meets. He’s curious, playful, and already showing what a loving companion he’s going to be.

Like all puppies, Barkley will need a family ready to continue his training, socialization, and lots of cuddles—but he’ll repay that love tenfold. He truly is the kind of pup who will grow into a loyal, joyful, lifelong best friend.

Paws of Dixie Animal Rescue adopts in the New England area. Our adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, up to date shots, Microchip, Alabama Health Certificate, and the transport service to get the new family pet to you.

The pets are delivered by a licensed transporter.

Please be advised that our volunteers are busy rescuing, transporting, and caring for our animals. We will respond to your application as soon as possible. Upon review of your application, the rescue in AL will contact you, so you can ask any specific questions that you may have.

NOTE: All Paws of Dixie animals are located in AL foster homes. They will be transported north after adoption.

If there is more than one decision maker in the home, all of them should be in agreement.

They come in two coat varieties, rough and smooth, with colors ranging from sable and white to blue merle. Collies excel in obedience training and thrive on mental stimulation and physical activity. Their keen intuition and strong bond with their owners make them wonderful family pets and reliable working dogs in tasks such as herding livestock or in search and rescue missions.

The Labrador Retriever is a popular and versatile dog breed known for its friendly demeanor and high intelligence. These dogs are often used as guide dogs for the visually impaired, search and rescue dogs, and excellent family pets. Labradors are known for their great sense of smell, strong build, and love of water, making them exceptional hunters and swimmers. With their loyal and loving nature, Labradors have rightfully earned their reputation as one of the most beloved dog breeds in the world.
