Meet Potato, a handsome little blonde pup with the sweetest, most gentle soul. He came to us from the Central Valley alongside four siblings after a very rough start to life. While we don’t know everything they’ve been through, it’s clear they’re incredibly resilient and ready for a fresh beginning.
Potato is on the shy and reserved side, but underneath that initial softness is a calm, loving puppy who just needs a little time and patience to feel safe. Once he starts to trust, his sweet nature really shines. He would do best in a home with another confident dog to help guide him and show him the ropes of being a happy, secure pup.
He is about 10 weeks old and currently weighs around 12 pounds. Based on his size and build, we expect him to be approximately 30 pounds full grown. He and his siblings all have unique extra dewclaws, adding to their one-of-a-kind charm. Our best guess is that he may be a mix of Lab, Shepherd, and Chihuahua, though with rescue, it’s always a bit of a mystery.
Like any young puppy, Potato has had no formal training yet. He is truly an infant and will need a committed adopter who is ready to invest time and consistency into house training, crate training, socialization, and daily exercise. Puppies at this age cannot be left alone for long hours and thrive in homes with flexible schedules.
Despite his difficult beginnings, including being found in a homeless encampment in Fresno, Potato is now safe in the Bay Area and ready for his second chance. He is incredibly sweet, loves to cuddle, and is already showing that he is food motivated, which will be a great asset for training.
Potato is looking for an active, patient home with a yard, another dog, and a lifelong commitment to helping him grow into the confident, happy dog he is meant to be.
If you’re ready to give this special boy the love, structure, and stability he deserves, Potato will reward you with a lifetime of loyalty and companionship.
