OAKLEY SWEET PAWS

Labrador Retriever, Cattle Dog
🇺🇸
Friendswood, Texas
January 24th
male, medium, adult

DESCRIPTION

Oakley is pure joy wrapped in a slightly oversized puppy body. He lives for affection, scratches, and being loved on and he truly adores people. He is the kind of dog who leans into pets, wiggles with happiness and makes you feel like you’re his favorite human within seconds.

Oakley loves everyone, every dog, every person, every new friend he meets. He’s playful, social and endlessly sweet and while he’s physically big he very much acts like a goofy puppy who hasn’t quite realize his size. He’s silly, clumsy and hilarious in the best way possible.

Oakley is a lab cattle dog mix about a year old with short legs and huge paws. He has the most stunning bright blue eyes ever. Because of his size and puppy energy he would do best with a confident dog friend ideally a female who can tolerate an oversize puppy who just wants to play and have fun.
Oakley would definitely do best in a home with other dogs that he can play with I don’t think he should be an only dog. Oakley loves kids, he did so well around a 5 and 8 year old. He got loved on by them and was more than happy with that. He was so calm when they were running around screaming jumping and even laying all over him. He would do great with any kid he is truly the calmest and sweetest boy! He would not be best fit for a home with cats while he was respectful and wanted to play his size and enthusiasm could be too much for a cat.

Despite his playful side, Oakley knows how to chill. He’s not a big barker can relax and hang out making him a potential apartment candidate with an active family committed to meeting his exercise needs. He does so great on a leash and stays next to you the whole time. A home with the yard would be a dream for him, but he’d be happy as long as he gets daily activity, playtime, enrichment and love.

Oakley loves treats and toys especially squeaky toys the noisier the better, he’s an affectionate goofy loving puppy the kind of dog that steals hearts without even trying.

Why everyone falls in love with Oakley:
Big puppy energy with even bigger heart
Social sweet and obsessed with people
Lives for toys and attention
Super playful, but also knows how to chill

Oakley Is truly something special, a dog who brings laughter, love and joy wherever he goes he’s ready to be someone’s best friend, adventure, buddy, and couch companion all in one

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
