Some dogs are special… and then there are the once-in-a-lifetime, heart-dog kind of souls. Lady Love is that kind of dog. The kind that doesn’t come in loud or flashy, but instead quietly finds her way into your heart and settles in like she’s always belonged there. An old soul in a young body, the kind of companion people spend years hoping to find… and somehow, here she is.
Lady Love is the definition of a soft, sweet, old-soul companion that will quietly steal your heart and before you know it, you can’t imagine life without her. Let’s also not forget to mention her love for belly rubs! Once this girly loves you, she’s all about belly rubs and snuggles! She would probably snuggle with you all day if you let her. Lady Love
is the perfect mix of sweet, silly, and snuggly all wrapped in one.

Lady Love is believed to be a Lab mix approximately 2-3 years old and currently weighs 63 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age.
From day one in her foster home, Lady has been an absolute dream. Truly the kind of dog people hope for. She has perfect house manners, has never gotten into anything, and has been completely trustworthy even when unsupervised. Being in a home just comes naturally to her… like she’s always known exactly how to do this whole “beloved family dog” thing. Her energy is beautifully laid back. She’s not constantly on the go, not busy or chaotic. She’s usually found curled up relaxing, just enjoying being near her people. She has that rare “young dog with an old soul” vibe that makes her feel so easy and comforting to be around.
And while she loves being close to her humans, she’s not clingy or overwhelming. She’ll happily stay nearby, keeping you company, without needing to be on top of you every second. It’s the perfect balance. Lady is also incredibly gentle, especially with people. She’s been amazing with her foster’s 84-year-old mother-in-law, showing just how soft, careful, and intuitive she is. The kind of dog you can truly trust around loved ones. When you first meet her, you’ll notice she’s not the type that is going to be immediately leaping into your lap for affection. As repetitive as this may sound, it’s simply the truth. Lady is a gentle old soul type of dog and likes to take everything in, process, and get cozy. She warms up with kind voices, treats, and affection, and once she trusts you, she is so sweet and loving.
When it comes to other dogs, Lady is polite but a little shy at first and more of a slow-burn companion. She likes her personal bubble and will gently remind pushy playful dogs to give her space with a little “smile.” Which is simply just her way of saying she’s a gentle lady that’s not the playful type and needs some space to get to know them. Once she knows she’s safe, though, she relaxes and starts to open up. She’s been going to group play and does great, especially with calm, mature dogs who match her vibe. She enjoys being around them, sniffing, walking alongside, and even doing little side-by-side romps, but she’s not a rough-and-rowdy playstyle kind of girl. Think “let’s hang out together” energy, not chaos.
Lady will do best in a home with a doggy friend that has the same cool, calm, and collected vibe like herself. A male friend that enjoys the company of another dog, isn’t looking for a playmate and a pal that will respect her space once she arrives at her forever home. If you don’t have other dogs, that’s fine too. She does not need the company of another dog to help her open up or to satisfy her energy needs and would equally love being your one and only. She would also do best in a home with no kitties in the home.
Lady is eager to please and very easy to train. She enjoys leash walks, does great with stairs, and absolutely loves car rides. And when it’s time to relax? She’s more than happy to snuggle up with you if you invite her in. She’s not a big barker, doesn’t whine, and has a calm, peaceful presence in the home. Honestly, she’s the type of dog that makes your house feel more relaxed just by being in it.
Her calm and peaceful presence can also go without saying that Lady would thrive most in a calm, relaxed, homey environment. A home that’s not concerned with being the social gathering hub for all your neighbors and friends, but rather a home that is slower paced and smaller social gatherings. Lady would love a home with a back yard where she can keep you company while you garden, sunbathe, and romp around with her favorite toy. She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t need to be flashy to be special. She just is. Steady, gentle, loving, and so easy to have in your life.
If you’ve been searching for a calm, low-maintenance, deeply sweet companion who will quietly become your favorite part of every day… Lady Love is the one for you. We are willing to test her with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know!
