Labrador Retriever and Beagle Dogs Available for Adoption
MAX
Labrador Retriever, Beagle
🇺🇸
Stanley, Virginia
February 13th
male, large, senior
DESCRIPTION
Meet Max! He came to the shelter as a stray and is about 10 years old. He has been neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.
Max is a lovable, chunky senior pup with a heart just as big as his appetite. He weighs in at about 80 pounds — though he’d be much happier and healthier closer to half that. Right now, he’s carrying a little too much extra love, and it’s contributing to some arthritis discomfort in his joints. With a proper diet, gentle exercise, and lots of encouragement, Max’s mobility could improve significantly. Max is the definition of a vibe. As a senior gentleman, he prefers cozy naps, slow strolls, and soaking up affection over high-energy adventures. He absolutely adores greeting people though; his tail starts wagging the moment he sees a friendly face. Despite his size, he’s incredibly gentle and has the calm, steady temperament that makes senior dogs such wonderful companions.
If you'd like to be Max's furever home you can call (540) 778-2101 or email animalshelter@pagecounty.virginia.gov.
