Labrador Retriever and Beagle Dogs Available for Adoption

-ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 55lbs

-ESTIMATED AGE: 9 years

-KNOWN WITH DOGS: Sammy was part of a few playgroups at a previous shelter facility and was put into the "soft and dainty" category, which definitely checks with his personality! He would be fine with another dog in his future home or as a solo dog.

-KNOWN WITH CATS: Sammy lived with a kitty in his foster home and did great! It sometimes takes this particular cat a few days to warm up to new fosters but she seemed to immediately feel at ease with Sammy. Sammy would be fine with a cat in his forever home.

-KNOWN WITH KIDS: Sammy is very calm and gentle with kids, though he would do better in a home with older children or adults.

-KNOWN CUES: Sammy knows Sit and Stay, and would love your help learning more.

-KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: Sammy is housebroken and did not have one accident in his foster home. He is also crate trained. Sammy sometimes gets a little whiny in his crate but he never barks. He also had nights uncrated in his foster home and was on his best behavior. He is quiet and not destructive and understands which toys are his!

-KNOWN LIKES: Sammy loves relaxed afternoons and hanging with his people! He would be the perfect dog if you want to bring your dog with you to breweries, restaurants, and social events because he is such a chill guy who is pretty go-with-the-flow and really just wants to be with his person. Sammy is also great in a car!

-KNOWN DISLIKES: Sammy was mostly fed people food his whole life so he is reluctant to eat kibble. He loves wet dog food though and has been eating that now that he has his appetite back after getting settled in his foster home. Sammy also doesn't like when people try to take his food or other things he's chewing on.

Notes from the foster: Sammy is a delight, he would be a wonderful dog for almost all situations! Sammy does not let his age slow him down either, he is quite playful. He and his foster have gone on a few 3-mile hikes and Sammy loves them, he loves saying hello to everyone who we pass! He is such a great dog, just looking for someone to give him his second chance!
