This is Francis, affectionarly named after St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.
This boy is is gentle, kind, sensitive, and affectionate. He recently landed himself at a shelter in Georgia and won all of the staff and volunteers over. Our rescue partner reached out for help and after seeing this boy, we knew we needed to help.
Francis arrived to the shelter emaciated and struggling to walk. He's clearly suffered and known neglect for too long. He is also high heartworm positive and suffering from the effects of them. A nasty disease, which is preventative with just a monthly pll, and unfotunately all too common among rescue dogs.
In just a few short weeks in the shelter, he has greatly improved, he's gained strength and energy, walks easier and his tail wags with joy... and all of this just from regular meals and some affection. He is a happy boy who deserves to spend his last chapter in the comfort of a warm home with a loving family.
