Meet Pancake and the Breakfast Litter! They came to us on February 23rd from another rescue that transported them from a rural shelter where an Amish breeder had surrendered them because they were mixed breed. Apparently, some other dog mated with their Jack Russell female. We were told that they were born on Dec 11th; however, we feel like these puppies are much younger. They have not started losing their baby teeth yet. Our guess is that they are more like 10 weeks old now, making their date of birth closer to Jan 1st. There are 4 boys and one girl in the litter, making them the opposite of our Valentine's Litter!
Pancake is the largest of the litter and is being fostered with his brother Sausage. They are learning so much from the other dogs in the home. They are doing great at potty training and picking up basic obedience and they just love to run around outside and play all the time! They are great cuddlers once they finish playing. Since we do not know what breed the dad was and these two are twice as large as the smallest two they could be from a large breed dad, or they may even be from an older litter. They have not lost their baby teeth yet so we still think they were born in January.
At this time, we are looking for adopters who can continue their potty and obedience training. There are special requirements for the adoption of puppies at this age as follows:
**Must be able to potty them every few hours. They need an adult with them 24 hours a day. Stay at home, work from home, or rotating partner schedules will work. Puppies need to go potty every few hours at this age. That means in the middle of the night no matter the weather, they are going outside!
Your pets must be up to date on vaccines; no doggie daycare. These puppies are very susceptible to disease at this age, as they are not fully vaccinated until 16 weeks of age. We cannot risk anyone bringing home a disease from daycare/grooming/boarding.
Must be able to bring them to our office every few weeks for medical care. They need several rounds of vaccines as well as sterilization in April.
Must live in the Columbus area and meet all other adoption requirements.
Please send an inquiry today if you are interested in adoption.
