Although she may take a moment to warm up, the wait is absolutely worth it. Whether she’s showing off her goofy side or leaning in for some serious snuggle time, Piper’s main goal in life is to be wherever you are. She’s the kind of dog who makes every day feel like a celebration just by being in the room!

We suspect this little lady is a Rat Terrier mix, weighing in at a perfectly portable 23 lbs. She has a coat like a canvas; deep, dark brown patches are set against a bright white background, with tiny, delicate speckles dusted throughout like a finishing touch from a painter's brush. She is the ultimate companion small enough to join you on all your errands and easy to tuck under your arm, but sturdy enough for a good walk in the park! Of course, as with all our rescue superstars, her breed mix is our best educated guess, but her 100% sweetheart status is a absolute fact!

Piper is what we call a 'velcro dog' in the best possible way. She doesn’t just want to be in the same house as you; she wants to be your right hand gal! She might not be able to read the GPS (mapping is hard when you don’t have thumbs!), but she is the most polite passenger you’ll ever meet. Piper is a total pro in the car who settles right in and just enjoys the 'vibe' of a good road trip playlist. While some dogs crave the rugged Great Outdoors, Piper is a homebody at heart who prefers the climate controlled life of indoor lounging. If you’re looking for a companion to binge watch your favorite shows or a quiet partner to hang out with while you work from home, Piper is your girl.

How does Piper feel about other dogs? Well, while she isn't much for rough-and-tumble wrestling, she’s more than happy to coexist peacefully with other pups and will even graciously share a prime sun spot for a joint sunbathing session. She doesn’t really play with other dogs because she truthfully prefers hanging out with humans over her canines. She’d be a fantastic match for a household with another laid back dog who respects her space or a home where she can truly thrive as your one and only. Whether she’s lounging near a furry friend or soaking up all the human attention as the star of the show. Piper is a devoted shadow who finds her greatest joy in being the heart of your home.

A feline roommate? Piper actually gave us the deets on how she feels about cats, and she’s decided she’d prefer a home without one! She met a cat recently and thought they were very interesting little critters, maybe even a bit too interesting. Piper’s looking for a home where she can be the undisputed star of the show and keep all those forehead kisses for herself!

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop off locations, in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, connect with fellow adopters and fosters through our private Facebook event page!
Before the adoption is finalized, you will meet your pet through a video call, creating a fun and personalized experience!
The adoption fee is $1,600.00 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
