Paco is a velcro dog in the best way possible. Once he decides you’re his person, he is your loyal little shadow. From the sizzle of the kitchen to the soft cushions of the couch, he’s never more than an arm’s length away. He is the ultimate homebody, tucking his chin into your lap to seek out reassurance. When he’s ready for ear scratches, he doesn’t bark; he gives a polite, weightless hop, his front paws landing against your knees just to remind you he’s there.
We think Paco is a dapper Rat Terrier mix, weighing in at a perfectly portable 11 pounds. He’s small, compact, and incredibly easy to scoop up for a weekend getaway! While he’s light on his feet and can leap onto the couch with the grace of a tiny gazelle, he’s got a heart ten times his size. Of course, with any rescue, his breed is our best educated guess, but his cuteness is 100% guaranteed!
Paco is thriving in his foster home, where he’s currently enrolled in "Bravery 101" with his Chihuahua foster sibling acting as his lead professor. Whether they’re playing like tiny whirlwinds or peacefully coexisting with the resident cat, Paco is a social butterfly who appreciates a polite feline friend (though he’ll give a little "excuse me!" nudge if they get a bit too curious). He’s becoming a total pro on his leash and is learning that the world is a pretty great place when he’s walking right by your side. In the car, Paco is the ultimate low profile co pilot, sitting so quietly you’d almost forget he’s there if it weren't for the occasional happy tail thump against the seat. He’s the type of pup who thrives on routine and a little decompression time to show you his true, silly self. Whether it’s a car ride to the park or a quiet evening at home, Paco is just happy to be included in the plans.
When it comes to other dogs, Paco is a fan of the slow and steady approach. He is a total rockstar and loves small dog playgroups, where he can roam around and investigate with his fellow petite pals. He’s a sophisticated guy who prefers a low energy dog sibling or living as the spoiled only child. He’s great at setting boundaries and would love a home where his space is respected while he builds up his confidence!
How is he with cats, you ask? Paco is actually cat tolerant and a seasoned feline roommate in his foster home! He’s proven to co exist peacefully and even set gentle boundaries if a kitty gets a little too curious (most cats are bigger than him). While he’s already a pro at sharing space, we still suggest a supervised kitty sleepover just to make sure he and a kitty are destined to be inseparable best buds.
Whether he’s patrolling a lush green lawn or lounging in a sun drenched apartment, Paco fits right in. He’s a brave little spirit in a big world, constantly checking in with his person for a reassuring pat. One look at his unforgettable ears one standing tall like a tiny sail, the other tucked shyly down and you’ll see the face of a dog who is ready to explore the wide world, as long as he’s by your side. He’s a tiny, curious explorer navigating the world on four white paws, just needing a patient hand to keep building his confidence.
Paco is a tiny, affectionate, 11 pound bundle of joy who just wants a person to call his own. He’s loyal, silly, and the perfect size for any lifestyle. If you have a little extra room on your couch and a lot of room in your heart, Paco is waiting for you!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
