Meet Freedom

Freedom is a beautiful husky who is finally getting his second chance.

When Freedom came to us as a stray, it was clear he hadn’t had the easiest life. He showed signs of neglect and lack of proper care, and at only 48 pounds, he is extremely underweight for a husky. Despite everything he has endured, Freedom’s spirit is gentle, loving, and incredibly resilient.

From the moment you meet him, Freedom just wants one thing: kindness. He absolutely adores people and will happily lean in for pets, ear scratches, and attention. His sweet nature shines through immediately, and he bonds with humans very quickly.

Right now, Freedom is staying in boarding in Buffalo, NY. The facility is wonderful and the staff care about him deeply, but boarding is not where a dog like Freedom can truly thrive. What he really needs is a home environment where he can feel safe, gain weight, continue learning, and finally experience the love and stability he deserves.

Freedom is incredibly smart and eager to learn. He has already picked up “paw” and “lay down” very quickly, which shows just how intelligent and responsive he is. Like many huskies, he has lots of energy and a curious mind, which means he will do best with an owner who enjoys being active and is willing to continue working with him on training and structure.

Freedom is still learning his manners on leash and can get excited and jump when he greets people. With consistency, guidance, and positive training, he will quickly develop into an amazing companion.

Because Freedom is a husky, potential adopters should understand that this breed is known for being very intelligent, energetic, vocal, and athletic. Huskies love to explore and need both mental stimulation and physical exercise to stay happy and balanced. If you are a couch potato who loves to watch Netflix (like me), this is not the dog for you.

Freedom would thrive in a home that understands the needs of the breed and is excited to continue helping him grow. If he is adopted before we are able to get him neutered, we will cover the costs of the surgery. It is imperative that his adopter is willing to take him to his appointment and help him heal after his surgery.

If you have a fenced yard, it must be at least 8 feet high. Freedom is athletic and may easily jump over shorter fences.

Most importantly, Freedom needs someone who will show him the stability, compassion, and care he has been missing.

Against All Oddz Animal Alliance will provide guidance, support, training advice, and veterinary care during the transition. We want both Freedom and his adopter to succeed.
