What We Know: We have never met a more quiet, laid-back, gentle husky in our lives. Sophie is truly one in a million. She is the most velvety soft, submissive, loving girl who is perfect on every level. She was surrendered with her sister Chrissy when their people no longer could take care of their animals. Sophie was clearly a very well-loved and well-cared for pet who needs to be out of the shelter and back in a loving home STAT. Sophie temperament tested well with people and other dogs! She is learning to walk nicely on leash, is in off-leash playgroups with other pups, and is doing a good job of going potty outside. She will be an outstanding family pet!

What We’re Unsure About: We can’t guarantee breeds or ages, but we do our very best to guesstimate. In the shelter environment, we never know if a dog is housebroken or not, but we work on getting every dog to potty outside during their time with us. It’s important to anticipate needing to do all basic training. 

The husky breed is renowned for its striking appearance, characterized by piercing eyes and a thick double coat. These medium sized, energetic dogs are known for their friendly and outgoing personalities, making them wonderful companions for active families. Originally bred for sledding and endurance in cold climates, huskies are intelligent and independent, often displaying a strong prey drive. Proper training and regular exercise are crucial to keep these playful and social animals happy and well adjusted.
