OUT-OF-TOWN Dogs with NDR refer to dogs we have saved that have yet to make their journey to Ontario. These dogs are currently in our care with the help of our partners in the area. These dogs will all travel to the Niagara Region once an appropriate adopter or local foster is found.

Backstory:
Meet Rainybow: The Gentle "Wet Noodle" If you are looking for a dog that quite literally melts into your lap, meet Rainybow. Despite being a large girl, she thinks she is a lap dog and will go completely limp like a "wet noodle" the moment you start giving her love.

Rainybow is the definition of a gentle soul. While she has the beautiful coat of a Husky, she has the mellow, easy-going heart of a Lab. She is a low-energy girl who is happiest when she’s splashing in a creek or lounging nearby while her people relax. Rainybow has some amazing qualities; she is incredibly gentle with women, men, and children, Rainybow isn't just "good" with cats—she truly loves them! She also gets along great with other dogs. She’s a pro at house manners and is used to having a yard to explore. Her favorite place in the world is the creek. If there’s water nearby, she’s a happy girl!

Rainybow has never really been on a leash, so she will need someone to help her learn that walking on one is a fun adventure, not a tug-of-war. She loves her "free roam" time in a yard. Losing her lifelong owner was a big change. She needs a family that understands she may need a little time to settle in and show her true, goofy self.

Rainybow is a "once-in-a-lifetime" kind of dog—gentle, loving, and purely devoted. She is looking for a forever home where she can get all the head scratches she's been missing, and finally be the center of someone's world again.

The husky breed is renowned for its striking appearance, characterized by piercing eyes and a thick double coat. These medium sized, energetic dogs are known for their friendly and outgoing personalities, making them wonderful companions for active families. Originally bred for sledding and endurance in cold climates, huskies are intelligent and independent, often displaying a strong prey drive.
