Gunner is a sweet, distinguished senior boy with a broad head, soft graying muzzle, and warm brown eyes that carry all the character of a life well lived. He arrived at Cobb Animal Services on August 7th after his previous owners were no longer able to care for him.

There is something truly unjust about a sweet senior boy like Gunner having to spend any of his golden years in a noisy shelter environment instead of settled into the comfort of a home. Senior dogs are so often overlooked, yet they bring a calm, settled affection that only comes with age, and Gunner's gentle nature reflects that beautifully.

Gunner is very easy on a leash and sits nicely, showing off lovely manners and a cooperative, willing spirit. He is house trained, good with children, dog friendly, and cat friendly, making him a wonderfully adaptable companion for many different kinds of households. While out in the yard, Gunner has spent time watching the parking lot, and it is easy to imagine he may simply be waiting and hoping for a familiar face to come find him.

Gunner is not currently neutered. Due to his age, this procedure cannot be performed at the shelter - if an adopter wishes to have him neutered, that would need to be arranged with their own veterinarian.

Adopting a senior dog like Gunner is a profoundly rewarding experience, offering a companion who is calm, affectionate, and ready to settle into the comforts of a home. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.
