Meet Ernie!

Ernie is a super cute guy who's ready to find a home that matches his fun-loving energy! From the moment he heads out of his kennel, you can tell he's curious about the world and excited to explore it.

On leash, Ernie walks in happy little “fits and starts,” sometimes catching a case of the zoomies that will definitely make you smile.

Ernie also has a sweet side. He enjoys chasing the ball (he's still working on the “bring it back” part!) and checks in regularly while still checking out the many exciting things to sniff and discover!



If you're looking for a lively, curious, and adorable pup who will keep you smiling and fill your days with playful energy, Ernie might just be your guy!

The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.

The hound dog breed is a diverse group known for their incredible hunting abilities and keen sense of smell. These dogs are esteemed for their athleticism, endurance, and loyalty, making them excellent companions for active individuals and families alike. With a rich history of assisting hunters in tracking and trailing game, hounds possess a strong prey drive and a distinctive bay when on the hunt. Hounds come in various sizes and coat types, each with its unique characteristics, but they all share a remarkable intelligence and a friendly disposition.
