This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Meatloaf isn't just for dinner! Why not have it everyday? Meet Meatloaf, an almost 4-month-old Hound mix, weighing around 21 pounds (as of 2/12/26). This beautiful boy boy was a stray on the Tennessee streets but he hopes he can find a cozy New England home to live in forever and ever!
Meatloaf is the biggest baby of them all! He is a lovable, sweet and wonderful pup who will kiss you when you're having good days, when you're having bad days, or just for no reason at all! While he likes to play, he also loves a good cuddle so stop crying over that deadbeat partner who ghosted you, and cuddle up with Meatloaf who'll never leave your side! This boy has no issues with strangers, kids or other puppies. He hasn't had experience with cats yet, but he's sure he'll win them over. He wins everyone over!
Since he's still a puppy, Meatloaf has only had experience with crates and is learning how to use a dog door so he will need help with the basics (leashes, potty training, commands). He is a great boy who will make a wonderful family member. He won't even judge if you burn your ex-partner's pictures in the fireplace! He knows you deserve the world and he's more than happy to give it!
Hope you're hungry! Bring Meatloaf home today!
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
