Meet curious Joel! This one-year-old hound/ shepherd mix is considering a career as a vet tech. He was such a delight at his recent checkup and showed so much interest in learning from the vet and staff that we wanted to share his adventure!
Joel was rescued with his brother, Billy, shortly before they were scheduled to be euthanized. They were owner surrenders to a high-kill shelter, and their only crime was the terrible luck of being with humans who had done back-yard breeding. These two boys never found a home, so the human gave them up to be killed.
Luckily, they are the sweetest boys and have wonderful fosters who are helping them learn to be their best selves. Billy (and) Joel are being separated to hopefully increase their chances of finding forever homes. That means Joel is needing a new Billy to complete his identity. He has been waiting for The Longest Time and promises to love you Just the Way You Are. If you are ready to be his Uptown Girl (or Guy!) Please submit an application today to be able to meet this great boy.
He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and on preventatives. He is approximately 33 lbs, but needs to put on a little more weight. At one-year-old, we do not expect him to get any bigger though. He needs a little help with housetraining, but he's a quick learn! He is on the more submissive side, good with other dogs, we can check with cats.
He is in Blacksburg, VA, but can be transported to farther locations for an approved adopter. Please consider this great boy! We will continue to update his pics, but he was just too adorable at the vet to not share.
