Joanie is a 1.5-year-old Shepherd/Hound mix weighing about 52 pounds, and she’s the perfect blend of sweetness, smarts, and resilience. With her soulful eyes and gentle nature, Joanie wins hearts quickly—especially once she knows she’s safe and loved.

She currently lives in a home with four other dogs of different sizes and does wonderfully in a pack setting. Joanie has excellent house manners and is both potty and crate trained, making her an easy addition to the right home.

Joanie is fully vetted—she is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Although she came into rescue heartworm positive, she has successfully completed treatment and recovered beautifully. She’s now on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention and is ready for a fresh start.

She gets along well with dogs, cats, and older children, making her a great fit for a variety of households. When meeting new dogs, she prefers a slow introduction, but she warms up quickly and shows her friendly, social personality.

Joanie’s early life began outdoors, where she was born and spent her first few months navigating a noisy, fast-paced environment. Because of this, she can be a little cautious at first—especially around unfamiliar men—but with patience and kindness, she builds strong, trusting bonds.

Joanie would thrive in a home that offers structure, patience, and love. She’s a thoughtful, observant dog who will reward her people with deep loyalty and affection. Whether she’s exploring the outdoors or relaxing by your side, Joanie is ready to be someone’s steady, devoted companion.
