Meet Cosmo!
At just 8 months old, Cosmo is a sweet, soulful hound mix with the kindest eyes and an even kinder heart. This handsome boy was found as a stray in heartbreaking condition - underweight and struggling - but thanks to a Good Samaritan and a caring local shelter team, Cosmo got the second chance he so deserved.
Now healthy and safe, Cosmo is truly starting to thrive! He's still working on filling out and gaining a bit more weight, but he's doing wonderfully and growing stronger every day. What hasn't needed any growing? His love for making friends!
Cosmo absolutely adores meeting new people and is wonderful with other dogs so far. He is especially gentle with people - approaching with soft curiosity, a wagging tail, and the sweetest demeanor. Despite everything he's been through, Cosmo has a tender, trusting nature that shines through in every interaction.
As a young hound mix, Cosmo is curious, affectionate, and ready to explore the world by your side. He would love a home where he can continue to build his confidence, enjoy regular meals (his favorite time of day!), and soak up all the love he's missed out on.
Cosmo's journey hasn't been easy, but you'd never know it by his joyful spirit. He's ready to leave his stray days behind and start his best chapter yet - as someone's loyal, cherished companion.

Cosmo is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $300.

Cosmo is in the Paws in Prison program, where he receives basic obedience training. He will graduate from Paws in Prison on 4/11/2026. The dogs in this program are provided basic level training under the AKC Canine Good Citizen standards and are specifically selected to be family and companion dogs. They spend 24 hours a day with their trainers. So, there will be an adjustment period as they adjust to their new family schedule.

For this reason, they will do best in homes where they are primarily inside dogs and spend lots of time with their families. The adoptive family will receive his training journal. This journal documents his arrival from the shelter, daily training progress, and interactions with the trainers.
